Day by Day

DAY 1 - Arrival in Colombo Airport, transfer to hotel in Negombo

Ayubowan (May you live long!). Our friendly driver guide will welcome you and then you will be transfer to the fishing village of Negombo, located near the airport so you can relax after a long flight journey. Negombo is certainly not just to relax in the beach, but this coastal city has a rich history to share with you.

DAY 2 - Drive to UNESCO protected Dambulla Caves Temple

After Breakfast visit one of the country’s busiest fishing center, where colorful ruwal boats sailing in the sea. Make a city tour to see the remaining of the Dutch period architectures, canals, a Buddhist temple, a Catholic church. Then depart to the cultural tri-angle at the center of the island in the morning. Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple UNESCO World Heritage site, the most impressive cave temple in Sri Lanka. Stay overnight in Sigiriya / Habarana.

DAY 3 - Visit Polonnaruwa Ancient Kingdom & UNESCO protected Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

After breakfast from the hotel visit Polonnaruwa, The ancient city is also rich in monasteries and Buddhist remains from this kingdom. The most interesting of all would be the ‘Gal Vihara’, meaning the rock Temple. Afternoon Visit one of Asia’s most spectacular cultural sites the Sigiriya Rock Fortress the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Only the fit and adventurous will be able to climb the summit, but all can enjoy the ancient ruins and wonderful sights around the base and halfway on hike. Its home to water gardens, frescoes and ancient graffiti. Stay overnight in Habrana/ Sigiriya.

DAY 4 Drive to Kandy & visit Temple of the Tooth Kandy

After the breakfast Transfer to Kandy, On the Way to Kandy Visit Matale Aluvihare Temple where Buddhist doctrines were first documented on Ola leaves on 1st century after passing through orally from generation to generation and visit Spice Garden at Martale. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site, The Temple of the Tooth. See famous Blue & Star sapphires are mined cut and polished using traditional methods and End the day enjoying a culture show in Kandy. It’s also worthy to tour around Kandy, beautiful lake, colorful streets, colonial Architecture, museums, an arts and crafts work shop, oriental market place and a bazaar. Stay overnight in Kandy.

DAY 5 - Visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage

After a good breakfast at the hotel and visit the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela, established in 1975, commenced with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their grand baby Elephants born in the same location. Visit Peradeniya Botanical garden at Peradeniya in the morning which is well-known for its collection of over 4000 species of plants, including of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. It’s also worthy to tour around Kandy, beautiful lake, colorful streets, colonial Architecture, museums, an arts and crafts work shop, oriental market place and a bazaar. Stay overnight in Kandy.

DAY 6 - Drive straight to Nuwara Eliya for tea plantation & tea factory

After good breakfast departs to Nuwara Eliya the ‘little England’ for its Victorian era structures and the mild weather. It’s chilled out weather and eccentric scenes of tea plantations, waterfalls and mountain ranges. Visit Tea Factory to see how the tea you drink is produced. It’s worth to visit Local Market and Gregory Lake in the evening. Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 7 - Drive to Uda Walawe, visit Ella gap

After breakfast Transfer to Udawalawe via Ella. On the Way visit Ella Gap & Rawana Falls. Reach the hotel in Udawalawe and prepare yourself for a safari at the Udawalawe National Park. The national park is a hot spot for rare bird conservation such as the Black Capped Kingfisher and the White Wagtail. The large elephant population is the main attraction. With around 400-500 wild elephants residing in the park, you can also expect to see Water Buffalo, Wild Boar, Macaques, Langur monkeys and various deer species. You will also rarely spot the Sri Lankan Leopard as the population has increased in recent years. Stay overnight in Uda Walawe.

DAY 8 - Morning make safari in the Uda Walawe national park

In the morning enjoy a jeep safari at the Uda Walawe Nation Park and in the afternoon visit Ath Athuru Sevana, the Elephant Transit Camp. Camp Established in 1995 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation, their primary objective is to rehabilitate orphaned elephant calves for ultimate release back into the wild. Afterwards see the rural life style, Chena cultivations, vegetable farms, village life, around the area. Rest of the day at leisure. Stay overnight in Uda Walawe..

DAY 9 - Proceed to South West Coast via The Gem City

Wild life lovers could make an optional morning safari in the Uda Walawa national park, and have a late breakfast. Others are free to make a stroll in the village, Chena cultivations, vegetable farms, after their breakfast at the hotel. Ratnapura is a valley bounded between Adam’s Peak and Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This busy city famous trading center for the area’s ancient wealth of gemstones. The mild weather, humid climate and the famous Kalu River are the perfect factors for gemstones to develop. Visit gem mining site to learn about Gem varieties, their mining methods & Localities. Overnight stay at South West Coast.

DAY 10 - Explore Galle City, Turtle Hatchery

After breakfast departs to Galle city, UNESCO World Heritage Site where tiny back streets in the Dutch Fort. Visit the Galle Lighthouse, and enjoy a nice round tour to the Dutch fort. You might like to buy some products from the quirky shops, stopping in a local cafe for lunch. Do not forget to visit Galle National Museum. Evening visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. It is home to Sri Lanka’s pioneering sea turtle conservation project, operated with the help of international volunteers.

DAY 11 - Day at leisure by the beach

After breakfast day at leisure by the beach, it is the most popular golden sandy beach in the island. Southwest coast is renowned for its high-end resorts and the beautiful beach strip away from the main roads. Enjoy sunbathing, water sports, beach walks and sea food in your day in leisure. DAY 12 - Make a city tour of Colombo & leave for the airport

After Breakfast at the hotel departs to Colombo. Make a city tour in Colombo. We also recommend you to go for a City Walk which is Complementary on your Package. Colombo Has got Ayurveda centers, Dutch Architecture of Pettah, Colonial era remaining, Fort, Galle Face Green, and Independence Square, Old Parliament House and Beira Lake surroundings.
