Little Adam’s Peak: This is Ella’s best known tourist attractionin Ella area, suitably named since it has a similar shape to Adam’s Peak, which is Sri Lanka’s holy mountain. Little Adam’s Peak is easily accessible and has much shorter and easier climb though. It takes half an hour to climb to the top of the 1141 meter peak. The walk is enjoyable and clearly marked as you meander through tea plantations and take in wonderful views of Ella Rock, Ravana Falls and the endless valley below. On a clear sunny day you can see the south coast of Sri Lanka from here.
Ella Rock:climbing Ella Rock is a great activity for those who are really interested in hiking and trekking, and is slightly more challenging than the climb to Little Adam’s Peak. Although you can find your way without any guide, there are no clear signs and stracks, so if you’re looking for the fastest way up, it is best if you hire a guide. It is wise to head up first thing in the morning to see amazing panoramic views. It takes about 1.5 – 2 hours to climb to the top, with a hike through tranquil woodland and tea plantations.
